MONEY

I have run two loads so far my first week with Panther. About doubled my money from Bolt.

I only need about one more load this week to be in good shape. So far my second day sitting in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Started out 7th out, worked up to 4th, and now back down to 5th on a 3 a day board.

SWITCH UPDATE

Ok, another carrier switch.

I am now at Panther, and waiting for my first load offer.

I have to give Bolt credit, they are paying me what they owe me. I was wondering if they would or not.

Hot Weather expediting

Looks as though I will be stuck in Montgomery for the big weekend. I wrote a blog about what I did with some of my time on myspace.
I am idling a lot for the first time since I got the van. It was over 100 here today, and was still 91 at 1 am.

Bought a threaded rod a turnbuckle and a hack saw blade, and made a cruise control out of them for idling.

Finally began the task of insulating, as I cannot sleep in the heat. This is going to cost a fortune, so I will do it in stages as I get loads.

Fuel is now 4.65 where I am, and it is going to ripple through the economy as it is all passed on to consumers.

My fuel surcharge is almost half what my load pays.

Changing Carriers and other things

Another service done, this time it did not cost 400 bucks plus.

I changed carriers, and am now with Bolt Express. Haven't been here long enough to know how it will go.

So far they have not missed a beat. Less than a week, and 2000 miles on someone else's money.

My last company decided to keep half the money they owed me, and I am not surprised since they lied to me about a few things.

They laid off almost every one of the dispatchers there, and Bolt is doubling the size of their building. Hope that is a good sign.

Almost up to 21 mpg now, and that makes this a little more profitable since fuel is up there. Paid 4.60 a gallon one place.

This is the first time I have been really sick on the road. Well as an expediter. Hope it gets better, or I will have to see a Dr in Texas. Don't want to stop this roll I am on.

Even one time of not checking and securing everything in the back when moving can be very bad.

Microwaves and computers do fly no matter what they tell you.

I have hauled very light loads so far with Bolt. This is much better. 350 pounds on a load 1000 miles to San Antonio.

Sick of sitting

It looks as though I can never get a load if I am outside Michigan.

Sitting in Va. All Expressway tells me is to stay where I am.

I am pretty fed up with the whole thing.
